The fishing season for sand lances recently opened. Nearly 10,000 kilograms of the fish are sold every day at the Xiaogang Wharf of Qingdao, Shandong province.

Locally known as noodle fish, sand lances are mainly found in the Yellow Sea and the Bohai Sea. The fish is delicious but inexpensive.
