Qingdao issued the Bluebook of Creative Cities – Qingdao Report on Cultural and Creative Industries (2012) on Jan 28.

The bluebook consists of six parts – overview, districts and county-level cities, clusters, companies, special topics and experts – according to Bandao.cn.

"By presenting problems in the development of cultural and creative industries in Qingdao, the book focuses on the integration of science and culture development and issues concerning the branding of Qingdao as the 'Island of Music'. Meanwhile, it does a good job reviewing our work in past few years and researching future developments," said Ma Da, chief editor of the book.
