All four bid sections of the Qingdao Xinguan Viaduct have started construction, according to the project manager on August 27.

Due to difficulties arising in the land requisition and resettlement compensation process, the south section’s construction team postponed the start date for a long time, the spokesman added.

The completion of the project will help relieve traffic congestion at Jiaoning Viaduct and improve urban highway efficiency. The viaduct’s main line has a reported top speed of 60 kilometers per hour.
