The Three Gorges Project, with a total installed capacity of 32*700MW and a total reservoir volume of 39.3 billion m3, is the largest hydropower project in the world. The project locates on Yangtze River of China and has a concrete gravity dam of 175m high and 2309m long. Its concrete casting volume is 16 million m3. It was commenced in 1994 and fully went into operation in 2009.
