On Dec 2, Dandong acting mayor Shi Guang visited the Instrument and Meter Industrial Base and affirmed its development over the past two years.
He said that the instrument and meter industry is the key industry for the Liaoning provincial government and the Dandong municipal government. Dandong will continue to develop the light equipment industry based upon these tools, as it is the fastest-growing and the most practical leading industry for the city.
Shi Guang said that supporting facilities and service platforms should be provided to facilitate the enterprises' settlement. The city shall also strengthen the management of enterprises and encourage them to speed up investment and construction. Dandong will attract more foreign investments, enhance the organization of the group, improve the working mechanisms and establish an employment scheme.
The Liaoning (Dandong) Instrument and Meter Industrial Base was established upon the approval of the Liaoning provincial government in April 2009. After two years of development and construction, it has grown into a demonstration base of new-type industrialization. The Phase-I and Phase-II projects have been put into use and 97 settled enterprises cover a variety of sectors. The sectors include the industrial automation control system and equipment, special and general instruments and meters, medical apparatus and instruments.
The base's prime operating revenue is expected to reach 3.1 billion yuan ($489.2 million) by the end of 2011, an increase of 50 percent year on year.
