Nantong Chamber of Commerce, in Jiangsu province, opened a branch in Macao on Sept 16.
The branch aims to unite Nantong natives who work and live in Macao and promote exchanges and cooperation between the two areas.
Statistics show that over 200 entrepreneurs of Nantong origin have achieved business successes in Macao. Their business scope involves fields such as food, real estate, construction, science and technology, and commerce, which facilitated the growth of the area's economy.
Officials said that the branch will further enhance exchanges with local figures and institutions, in a bid to improve its status and make greater contributions to economic and trade cooperation between Nantong and Macao.
The NETDA Free Trade Zone got the original go-ahead, on Jan 3, 2013, from the State Council, for a 5.29-sq-km area, in two parts.
