As the second largest water source project, Dongfengxisha Reservoir will benefit over 700,000 residents. With the planned area of about 3.74 km², the reservoir adopts the 100-year flood (tide) control standard for its riverside cofferdam. It will provide water of 215,000 m3/day in the short term and 400,000 m3/day in the long term.
