Ruzhou was recently granted the title of 2012 National Model City for Renewable Energy Building Application by the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of China. The recognition is a state-level award in the field of building energy conservation.
The award is given to cities with a solid foundation of renewable energy building applications and strong and continuous efforts in the area. Winning cities are chosen to drive and promote China’s renewable energy building application work. In addition, the central government will grant certain subsidiary funds to these model cities.
Since 2011, Ruzhou utilized its geographic location and accelerated promotion of renewable energy applications in efforts to implement the State Council’s strategic plan of energy conservation and emission reduction. Significant progress has been made as a result of the efforts.
