On March 8, 2012, cadres together with local employees were busy planting and growing trees for the China Arbor Day at the Guaipo scenic area in Ruzhou.

Cadres from the main executive branches of Ruzhou led almost 3,000 workers and staff members from 136 companies and factories of Ruzhou to grow trees on Feng mountain at the Guipo scenic area. Li Quansheng, party secretary of Ruzhou, and Wan Ying, mayor of Ruzhou, also took part in the activity. Cadres and employees from the companies and factories grew trees and followed requirements for digging, planting, and watering in the four designated areas.

The Ruzhou landscape and forester bureau transported water, agriculture and the forestry bureau printed and explained techniques for growing trees. The armed police and officers and men of the People's Liberation Army stationed in Ruzhou grew trees on the hard fields. People competed to grow trees and women had an uncommon "Women's Day" at the mountain together with men.

"Growing trees not only is good for afforestation efforts on the barren mountain, but is a meaningful way to spend ‘Women's Day'," said Miss Wang, a comrade from Qiling town, when she was growing trees on the mountain.

In order to ensure the growing of newly-planted trees, Ruzhou city committed units to protecting them. The agriculture and forestry branch will supervise to ensure the saplings survive.

More than ten thousand trees were planted on Feng mountain in Ruzhou from morning until noon on March 8, 2012. It is said that each town in Ruzhou has initiated planting trees activities to beautify and construct a harmonious Ruzhou before the "China Arbor Day".
