The city of Guiyang, Guizhou province recently signed a 1.28-billion-yuan ($190 million) deal with Nanjing Puzhen SR Rail Transport, based in the city of Nanjing, Jiangsu province for rolling stock for the first phase of its metro network.
Construction work on Guiyang's metro Line 1 began back in October 2013, with the tunneling on the first section of the 34.3km line expected to be completed this April and the commissioning scheduled for next year. Deliveries of the trains themselves are expected to begin later this year.
Line 1 will link the Guiyang and Guiyang North stations, two major ones, through downtown Guiyang.
