The city of Anshun, in Guizhou province has gotten approval as China's first rural finance and credit city, from the provincial Party Committee and provincial Rural Credit Union, as of Dec 31, 2015, thanks to its promotion of credit ratings for rural people and its credit villages to finance rural areas that it started back in 2006.
This was followed by nearby Guanling county becoming the first rural finance county, in 2011, with five other counties and districts getting it at other times. Anshun itself has files on 464,600 rural households as part of its rural credit development, 96 percent of whom have credit ratings.
