The charity fund run by Guangdong Development Bank will donate 1.05 million yuan ($161,530) to Guizhou province this year, aimed at helping to boost the local education facilities and improve the livelihoods of students living in poverty-stricken areas.
Established in 2008, the fund has financed the education of 4,679 children. By September 2012, the fund had raised 17.9 million yuan, of which 10.38 million was contributed by Guangdong Development Bank.
