Gansu cultural translation center sets up on Lanzhou

Lanzhou City University, in the city of Lanzhou, Gansu province, announced the opening of its translation center, the afternoon of July 21, which is expected to play a major role in publicizing Gansu and in connecting more with the outside world.

The center is working with personnel from the provincial translation association, Central Compilation and Translation Bureau, and other colleges and organizations.

The head of the Gansu Party propaganda dept, Lian Ji, who was on hand for the opening ceremony, described the action this way: “This is a big move for Gansu in ‘going out’ and the center its personnel should make every effort to promote the Silk Road, Dunhuang, and local culture and train more translators to help with international cooperation.”
