Another terminal building in Fuzhou Railway Station is scheduled to become operational on Jan 20, sources at the station said.
The new two-storied northern terminal takes up a construction area of 37,200 sq m. It is connected with the southern terminal by a waiting hall on the second floor and an underground outbound channel.
The terminal will have six ticket windows, 9 ticket vending machines, 32 tickets gates (24 for entrance and 8 for exit) and 4 escalators. It will significantly alleviate pressure during the Spring Festival travel peaks.
A large square covering 20,000 sq m is being built in front of the northern terminal building. It will integrate various transportation modes including railway, subway and bus.
