The Pingtan County Hospital recently launched a campaign targeting medical staff who privately accept kickbacks from patients, ptnet.cn reported on March 24.

The move came after the hospital was rated one of the ten least ethical hospitals in Fujian province in 2014.

The rectification drive starts with refusing red envelopes, which contain money from patients in exchange for better medical service, and kickbacks from medicine retailers, said Du Dehong, the hospital’s vice president.
