A Book Month that includes activities around Fujian province was launched on Oct 5 and is set to end on Oct 28.

As part of the initiative, a reading center which features works by members of the Fujian Writers' Association, was opened in Pingtan county.

Books on Pingtan cultural history were distributed across villages and schools in Pingtan.

And the county also plans to set up a book club and hold various cultural activities such as calligraphy competitions.
