A group of students from Fujian Normal University recently spent one day in Pingtan county, Fujian province, to increase their understanding of the local tourism resources, as part of their social practice.

The team members - who were all undergraduate students from the university's school of tourism – visited the local environment and land resources bureau, the tourism bureau, cultural and sports bureau as well as several of Pingtan's scenic spots.

The students said the visit gave them the opportunity to learn more about the traditional local customs and history and also about the protection of local tourism resources – and they offered suggestions concerning various issues.

The visitors said that social practice is of great importance to them, as it enhances their professional skills.
