A fire drill was held at Pingtan No 1 Middle School on Tuesday afternoon to enhance student awareness of fire prevention.

More than 500 new students were evacuated under the direction of teachers during the simulated fire.

Firefighters from the local fire brigade then demonstrated how to put out small flames with a fire extinguisher. They also taught students basic fire prevention knowledge.
