Baishuiyang ranks in "2014 China Top 10 Sports Tourism Destinations"

Baishuiyang scenic spot, in Pingnan county, Fujian province, was honored as one of the "2014 China Top 10 Sports Tourism Destinations", approved by the organizing committee of the 2014 China Sports Culture Expo on Nov 4th.

Sports tourism is a special and unique feature of Baishuiyang, which has a geographical advantage of water. Its annual water sport competitions in summer attract many participants from all over the world, which cover martial art, dragon dancing, lion dancing, gymnastics, water cycling, rafting, surfing and yachting.

The 2014 China-Baishuiyang International Water Sports Competition was held on Sept 6-7, which included nine games such as kayak racing, a double rubber dinghy rush and a waterfall challenge.

The 2014 China-Baishuiyang International Water Sports Competition, as the first international competition held in Baishuiyang, is a vanguard to bid for an Asian-Pacific kayak competition in 2016 (a warm-up for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games) and a kayak world cup in 2017.

The honor of "China Top 10 Sports Tourism Destination" will be a new drive for promoting local tourism and boosting the sports industry.
