The Cixi road reconstruction project in the Pingnan urban area has been inaugurated. On Feb 15, 2012, a reporter saw machines and diggers busily working at the spot.
Approved in December of 2011, this project is part of the 2012 Pingnan urban construction project with a total investment of 6.74 million yuan ($1.07 million). As much as 5.86 million yuan will be used in the reconstruction of Cixi road.The rest of the investment will be used for constructing a road from the traffic management bureau on Cuiping road to the road transport bureau, measuring at approximately 1,170 meters in total.
The lane is designed to be 12 meters broad and the side pavement will be 4 to 6 meters broad. The whole project covers embedding the rain and sewage pipes, precasting street lamp pipelines, planting border trees, reconstructing tap water pipes, and laying natural gas pipelines. With a construction area of over 21,000 square meters, the project is predicted to be completed and put into operation at the end of July 2012.
