The 21st Century Maritime Silk Road Exposition is set to be held in Fuzhou, capital city of East China’s Fujian province from May 18 to 22.

Revolving around the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road national strategy, the expo aims to promote global cooperation by sharing development opportunities generated by China's further reform and opening-up.

The exhibition, covering an impressive 120,000 square meters, is to be divided into 10 halls with 4,630 booths, displaying the commodities from 25 countries and regions across the world.

A special design in the central exhibition zone is expected to be a spectacular highlight of the event.

Featuring two screens inserting in two ship models in symmetry, with one shaped like a cruise ship and the other a cargo vessel, the craft symbolizes the booming economic trade and people-to-people exchanges among the countries and regions located on the Road.

Fujian, starting point of the ancient maritime silk trade, is setting up efforts to revive its key role in the Belt and Road Initiative, a national development strategy that aims to build a trade and infrastructure network connecting Asia with Europe and Africa along ancient trade routes.
