More than 100 calligraphers, from both Taiwan and mainland provinces, gifted their carefully crafted works to residents of Xiamen on Jan 15, Xinhua News Agency reported.

Calligraphers created Spring Festival couplets on the streets of Xiamen's Haicang district as part of an event organized by local authorities. The organizers created a festive atmosphere at the scene by placing a 400 meter display board to showcase fine examples of Spring Festival couplets.
