Sixteen swimmers swam for 20 minutes in the sea to promote the sport in Pingtan county, Fujian province, on Feb 21.

The campaign was organized by the Pingtan Swim Association to celebrate Spring Festival and encouraged more people to engage in winter swimming, according to Lin Yi, the association’s chairman.

“The experience of challenging and transcending yourself is really exciting. It will help you to become strong mentally,” said Wu Hong, a member of the association.
