Health authorities in Fuqing county, Fujian province are investigating a suspected food poisoning case in a primary school, in which 22 students showed symptoms of diarrhea or vomiting on the morning of Dec 25.

They were sent to the hospital at about 8 am, and were cleared after medical treatment at noon.

The pupils at the Meifoer Primary School fell sick after having breakfast, the local food and drug bureau confirmed to the Strait News.

The bureau carried out a sample inspection of the food on the breakfast menu at the school, and drew a preliminary conclusion that the soybean milk had quality problems.
