Christmas Eve in Fuzhou this year is going to be festive, gleeful, and freezing.

The municipal meteorological bureau issued a blue alert of coldness on Tuesday Dec 23, advising people to bundle up against the cold weather.

A wide temperature difference has lingered in Fuzhou in recent days. The temperature on Tuesday was 6 degrees Celsius in the morning, but soared to 19 degrees at noon.

Affected by a new cold front, the temperature on the evening of Dec 24 – Christmas Eve – is expected to stay below 10 degrees, according to weather forecasters.
