Fuqing county in Fuzhou, Fujian province, has started a level-4 emergency response of the H7N9 avian influenza virus, following a human infection case on Dec 3.

A 27-year-old local man, surnamed Ye, was diagnosed with the virus on that day. He is in a serious condition, and is receiving treatment in isolation in Fuzhou.
