The International Symposium on China-Africa Economic and Social Development, organized by Human Resources Research and Training Center of DRC, was held in Beijing on June 11. Over 130 officials and experts attended the meeting, including 49 delegates from 27 African countries and Pakistan who are participating in the “Economic and Social Policy Consulting Program for Developing Countries” (ESPCP), as well as the representatives from China’s provincial policy research and consulting institutions. Mme. Sun Lanlan, Director General of the International Cooperation Department of DRC chaired the meeting and made the opening and closing remarks. In a warm and friendly atmosphere, 13 African speakers and 4 Chinese speakers introduced the economic and social development, investment environment and areas for potential cooperation of their countries and provinces respectively and had heated interactions on topics of common interest. Some African speakers also took this opportunity to express their appreciation to the generous help from Chinese government and Chinese people.
