The first Folk Arts and Crafts Exhibition was held at Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden, Kaifeng city, Henan province, from April 1 to 7. Painted pottery producers from Jieshou city, Anhui province, attracted numerous visitors.
Over 600 folk artists from Anhui, Hainan, Guangxi and Guangzhou attended the exhibition. The folk arts on display include paper cutting, root carving, bronze carving, colorful pyrography, Sichuan brocade, cloisonne, carved porcelain, imitation of ancient bronze, clay sculpture, dough sculpture, embroidery, and silhouette. "We've only heard of Jieshou's painted pottery in the past. I did not expect the arts and crafts to be so beautiful and amazing. The Armed Horseback Figure is so vivid. I loved it so much, so I just bought one!" a tourist from Shandong province said as he held a piece of painted pottery.
