Anhui Pavilion Week

Theme: Hui Style in the prosperous China

General Introduction: The major part of the show is Huangmei Opera that is a state-level non-material cultural relic, Anhui Opera and Huagudeng, all of which heavily features Anhui’s culture. The show integrates opera, dance and songs together with many famous songs enabling of the culture of Anhui, Huangmei Opera’s charm explicitly expressed. Anhui Opera is the origin of Beijng Opera. Huagudeng’s enthusiasm is a representation of the Han’s people’s dance, and is nicknamed "the Ballet of the East”.

Impression of Anhui

Here a patio of the cozy Hui style is presented. In its center, there is a big stone drum, where allowing visitors to write on it and characters will be casted on the screen. The “Joint of Four Waters” section is surrounded by four big jars which could be found in the folk houses. Visitors can interact with the monitors on the jars to see the content with themes like “city”, ”economy”, ”humanity” and “l(fā)andscape”. After that, visitors will be introduced to the next section while the screen plays pictures of birds flying and chirping, before grouping together to form a beautiful rainbow.

Colorful cities

Here you may find a carefully packaged box in many colors. With the joyous babbling of kids, the package is removed and a crystal vase appears before your eyes. The colorful Chinese painting first steps onto the cork and then flows down the vase; at the same time, the colors inside the vase changes into dancing fairies who sprinkle petals again and again; the petals weave into a colorful rain, before bathing all its visitors.

Folk art

Various folk arts are the specialty of Anhui Pavilion. Huangmei Opera, Huagudeng, Fengyang Huagu and many other typical Anhui folk arts will show their best in the Expo Park. Meanwhile, 16 non-material cultural relics such as Huizhou ink-stick making, Rice paper making and the “Three carvings of Anhui” will be displayed.
