Jennifer Aniston got so impatient as a kid to have her ears pierced that she
decided to take matters
into her own hands, and bored her own ears using needles and a potato.
Aniston, who was just entering into her teen years at the time, revealed that
she had been so eager to get her own pair of dangling earrings, that she had
gone ahead and pierced her ears on her own with just a potato and needles.
"(I did it) with a potato and a piece of celery. I was around 13, 14. You ice
it up, and then there was a string involved, because you take a needle and
thread, and then you hit it with the potato, it I remember it correctly,"
Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.
And though the manner may send chills down every mother's spine and was, in
Aniston's words "a long time ago", the method worked for her, for she got her
pair of string earrings.
"It was a long time ago, but somehow it worked, and you have little string
earrings for a while," she added.
