Guangdong TV signed a deal with the MTV Channel to jointly promote the nationwide campaign to stop lip-synching in live performances.
The two TV stations will broadcast MTV Zhen Live every Saturday, a 45-minute program in which two popular artists from different music genres will perform live on the same stage.
China's rock godfather Cui Jian, local band Yu Quan, Taiwan indie musician Zhang Xuan, and talent show winner Li Yuchun, all appear on the program, which started in October last year. The first episode after the joint deal featured Taiwan's Tiger Wong with pop rock band F.I.R, broadcast on May 15.
