Woman steals baby to preserve relationship

Updated: 2009-07-01 13:57 A woman in Suide county, Shaanxi province, was arrested on Tuesday, days after she snatched a newborn baby to trick her boyfriend into keeping the relationship. The woman surnamed Xue, 24, of Xuejiahe village, met and fell in love with a man surnamed Li in May 2007. In 2008, Xue found that Li got married and wanted to end the relationship with her. She lied that she was pregnant and forced Li to divorce his wife in December 2008. As she was not pregnant, Xue decided to produce a baby by stealing one from the nearby hospital. (Sanqin Daily) |
