Established in 1989, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation is a forum that seeks to promote free trade and economic cooperation throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
亞太經合組織(the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation，簡稱APEC)誕生于1989年，致力于推動亞太地區(qū)的投資自由化和經濟合作。
APEC currently has 21 members, including most with a coastline on the Pacific Ocean. Members account for approximately 40 percent of the world's population, 54 percent of the world gross domestic product, and about 44 percent of world trade.
APEC目前有21個成員，大部分成員地處太平洋沿岸。APEC成員擁有世界上40%的人口、54%的全球GDP和44%的全球貿易。
APEC carries out work in three main areas: trade and investment liberalization, business facilitation, and economic and technical cooperation.
APEC主要在三個領域開展工作：貿易與投資自由化、商業(yè)促進、經濟和技術合作。
One tradition of the forum is the APEC leaders' family photo. At the end of the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, leaders in attendance gather for a photo while dressed in a costume that reflects the culture of the host member.
論壇的一個傳統(tǒng)就是APEC領導人的全家福。APEC領導人會議后，所有參會領導人會身著代表東道主文化的服裝拍集體照。
