Jessica Simpson keeps journals under lock and key with friends

Jessica Simpson has around 100 journals detailing her most intimate thoughts which the security conscious singer/actress gives to trusted friends to look after.
The 26-year-old admits keeping a journal is a risky thing for a superstar to do as she would be devastated if it was leaked to the media.
However, Simpson considers writing about her experiences therapeutic.
She tells US chat show host Jimmy Kimmel, "Some nights I write in pencil, some nights I write in pen. Some nights I know what I write I'm gonna want to erase."
"I have about 100 and go through one (journal) every five months. It's the only way to get to know myself."
"I keep them at a couple of friends' houses. Just in case something were to happen I have them locked up in certain places. My little treasure chests."
