Beyonce Knowles has slammed rumours one of the tracks on her new album was sparked by relationship problems with boyfriend Shawn 'Jay-Z' Carter.

Among the angry lyrics in Ring The Alarm, Knowles sings, "Ring the alarm, I've been through this too long, but I'll be damned if I see another chick on your arm."

But the Crazy In Love hitmaker insists the lyric has nothing to do with her personal life with long term boyfriend Carter - the song was inspired by her pent-up frustration after playing down trodden singer Deena in her upcoming movie Dreamgirls.

She says, "I'm so not going through that in my life right now, but I have gone through that, and I wanted to make a record that women could relate to."
