Kidney holding capacity surprises doctors No other organ can hold as much liquid as a kidney does, doctors said, when a kidney containing some 5.5 kilograms urine was reported, Xinhua News Agency reports. Wu, 17, from East China's Fujian Province, came to see a doctor because of a swollen stomach. It has grown increasingly bigger as Wu has grown up. At first, Wu's parents considered it as "baby fat" and did not give much attention to it. But the medical examination revealed "a big tumor" that required an immediate operation. A three hour operation helps the boy back to healthy life, with a huge kidney, weighing six kilograms, being medically treated. |
