7th Expo features China-made chips

The 7th High-tech Expo features a special chip industry exhibition in Hall No 8 of the China International Exhibition Center.
On display are mostly chips with self-owned IPR (intellectual property rights) and core technology, covering CPUs, media chips, general-purpose chips and communications chips.
The 863CPU systematic chips developed by Beida Zhongzhi have attracted the most attention at the event.
Along with new-generation Internet computers based on a Linux operating system, the chip is considered an important high-tech achievement that has greatly improved China's innovative capacity in science and technology, said Xu Guanhua, Minister of Science and Technology.
