China's mobile phone games market booms

China's mobile phone games market expanded rapidly in the first half of 2005,
according to CNIIC, a China-based consulting company concentrating on the
telecom industry.
China's registered mobile phone games users grew by more than 20 per cent
every month, including 70 per cent-90 per cent active users. There are 250,000
to 300,000 users downloading mobile phone games every month, generating about 20
million yuan in business revenue. The games download market was shared by the
China Unicom Co., Ltd. and the China Telecom Co., Ltd. on the 1-4 basis.
However, the development of mobile phone games market still faces many
obstacles such as the low quality of games and the low downloading speed.
