Simpson is on the mend after falling ill in Chicago while taping a segment for Oprah.

Jessica Simpson was briefly hospitalized in Chicago for a stomach virus while shooting a segment for The Oprah Winfrey Show, the singer's spokesman said Tuesday. 

Simpson, 24, became dehydrated and was admitted to the hospital Monday, said her spokesman, Brad Cafarelli.

She has since returned to Los Angeles and is "feeling better," his statement said.

The Oprah segment —Red Carpet Makeovers with Jessica Simpson— is scheduled to air Friday, two days before the Academy Awards. Other stars who will appear in the segment include actress Lara Flynn Boyle and singer Ashanti.
