Nine obese girls held their group engagement ceremony in Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong province, on Tuesday.

The Guangzhou Daily reported that it is the first group engagement ceremony of its kind in the city where all the brides-to-be are a little on the larger side.

Zeng Jing, a Guangdong girl who weighs 110 kilos and is known as "China's Fattest Model", designed her own wedding dress. The remaining eight girls were selected from 246 candidates from across the country. All of them weigh more than 75 kilos.

The girls wants to use the occasion to underline concerns facing big people and encourage the brave pursuit of happiness by the overweighted.
