An old man begging on the streets
looks on as fellow beggars walk in a line holding up signs to recruit female
models for a company in Xi'an, Northwest China's Shaanxi province on Tuesday, Oct. 10 2006. The beggars were paid
20 yuan (US$2.5) an hour by a behaviour artist to perform the job. Chinese leaders
in Beijing wrap up an annual four-day meeting of the
roughly 350-person Central Committee meant to take up efforts to spread China's new prosperity more
