Performer Sun Hu is dressed as the Monkey King at the Yichang Peking Opera Troupe in Yichang city, Central China's Hubei province, March 8, 2016. Sun, 54, began learning Peking Opera with his father at nine years old and then enhanced his skills under the instruction of masters like Ni Haitian and Yu Dalu. The troupe suffered from a declining market, high debt and a lack of performers in the 1990s and faced being shutdown. Sun then returned from the United States to lead the troupe, making it profitable through diverse methods.
