While the academic gown has been the must-have attire for the occasion, it is now being joined by various other styles such as the qipao, Mao suits and robes of the Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 220). Some students are also going for more quirky clothes that are fashioned after Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) princesses and "running brides".
