Police have detained Du Juan, wife of billionaire home appliance retail chain chief Huang Guangyu, in Beijing, media reports said yesterday. The Gome chief is already under investigation for suspected stock manipulation and other financial offenses.

Du resigned as a member of Gome's board of directors in December.

Gome Electrical Appliances Holdings suspended Huang from executive duties on Dec 23, and though police have confirmed he and other company officials are being questioned, they have not released details.
