In the remote and mountainous Jiayang mining region of QianweiCounty, Sichuan province, visitors have the chance to glimpse an earlier era by riding an old-fashioned steam train. Jiayang's steam train, which has been running for half a century and still operates using an old narrow-gauge steam mechanism, is an integral part of the local tourism industry. It is the only steam train running on such a narrow rail anywhere in the world that still accommodates passengers.
