A memorial ceremony at Beijing Confucian Temple and Imperial College on Wednesday marks the 2,567th anniversary of the birth of Confucius. Born in 551 BC, Confucius was one of the most important philosophers in China's history. Memorial ceremonies began in the second year after the sage's death in 479 BC.
