Police are looking for a 4-year-boy who wandered off while his street vendor father was fighting with local urban management officers in Haikou, Hainan province, China News Service reported.

The incident took place at the intersection of Guoxing Dadao and Wentan Road in Qiongshan district at 7:20 pm on April 22. Li Keming and his wife He Xiaoli, both from Sichuan province, were selling cold drinks when the officers arrived on the scene to take away their icebox and beverages.

The son wandered away as the couple was fighting with the officers.

Li had to be transported to a nearby hospital for treatment after he was beaten unconscious.

He discovered their son was missing after the case was settled.
