Counterfeit 100 yuan ($16) notes with numbers starting with M3S7 have been found in Shenyang, Liaoning province, and shops without detectors were cheated, Shenyang Evening News reported on Monday.

Wang, a shop owner in the city, said she received two such fake notes on April 19 when she was busy serving customers.

"We have no money detector or video monitor installed in our shop, so we can't know who passed the counterfeit money," Wang said.

The fake notes highly resembled the real currency and bank experts reminded everyone that greater attention should be paid to identify counterfeit money.
