Qingfeng, a Beijing-based chain known for its steamed buns, has seen a 40-percent increase of business since an unexpected visit by President Xi Jinping late in December to one of its branches, a legislator said on Wednesday.
Zhu Yuling, head of the State-owned Beijing Huatian Catering Group Corp, which owns the Qingfeng chain, said the 183 Qingfeng restaurants have witnessed long lines of diners waiting to order its steamed buns.
Zhu, a Beijing legislator, made the remarks during the ongoing two sessions of the Beijing People??s Congress and the Beijing Committee of the CPPCC.
He said the Qingfeng restaurants will pay attention to their food quality, rather than blind expansion.
