I am not familiar with the Chinese ideogram for reform, but for many years Chinese leaders have done a good job, lifting hundreds of millions out of poverty and turning the country into the world's second-largest economy. The Chinese government is keenly aware what makes its people happy and content, and has continually worked on it. The Chinese government is far from perfect, but its achievements in lifting the standard of living for its enormous population cannot be denied.
